Russian tennis player Daniel Medvedev admitted that it is difficult for him to compare his form with the one he had during the victorious US Open.
Medvedev on Saturday in the decisive match of the tournament in Dubai beat his compatriot Andrei Rublev with the score 6:2, 6:2. The former world No. 1 extended his winning streak to 14 matches and won his third consecutive ATP title.
– It is therefore very difficult to compare with the form at the US Open. Let’s say that with each new year, the feelings of defeat and victory are different – sometimes better, sometimes worse. You just know that I’m in really good shape. I’m very happy to have managed to score, but I try not to compare with something from the past. I’m just enjoying the moment. I will try to maintain this confident form for as long as possible,” Medvedev told The Championship.
Medvedev defeated Serbian Novak Djokovic in September 2021 in the US Open final with a score of 6:4, 6:4, 6:4, winning his first Grand Slam title.
