Russian tennis player Daniel Medvedev currently playing as the leader of the world rankings, says former ninth runner in the world, 1995 Davis Cup finalist Andrey Chesnokov.
In the updated rankings of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) on Monday, Medvedev climbed to sixth place. He beat his compatriot Andrei Rublev . On March 4, Medvedev defeated Rublev in the final of the ATP 500 tournament in Dubai, and earlier he knocked out the world’s first racket of Serbian Novak Djokovic from the fight.
– He [Медведев] won three tournaments in a row – I think that’s a phenomenal result. But it’s not the tournaments, if we’re talking about the player who was the first in the world last year. According to the level he currently displays, he plays like the first, the second, the third in the world. He can easily stand up. He doesn’t need to defend so much now because he didn’t show anything supernatural before Roland Garros, Chesnokov told Gazeta.Ru
