British Andy Murray spoke about the possible admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to Wimbledon, noting that he would not go crazy if that happened.
The Russians and Belarusians have been suspended from the Wimbledon tournament in 2022 due to events in Ukraine. Later, the organizers of the competition were fined $1 million and the WTA and ATP stripped the tournament of ranking points. Earlier it was reported that the tournament organizers will look into allowing tennis players from both countries to participate in Wimbledon 2023.
— I sympathize with the players who were not allowed to participate in the tournament last year. It’s a tough decision. I admit that the organizers may change their minds this year, but I will not go crazy over this if it really happens, – quotes the words of Murray BBC.
Murray is a double Olympic champion, winner of three Grand Slam tournaments, ex-first racket in the world.
Wimbledon 2023 will take place from July 3-16.
