Wimbledon organizers are drawing up a special code of conduct for Russian tennis players to sign before the tournament begins, according to the Daily Mail.
According to the source, the details of the code have not yet been finalized, but it is expected that any overt displays of support for Russia, the carrying of a flag or positive comments about the country will be prohibited. Code violation may result in penalties, including potential elimination from the tournament.
The Russians and Belarusians have been suspended from the Wimbledon tournament in 2022 due to events in Ukraine. For this, the organizers of the competition were fined one million dollars, and the WTA and ATP deprived the tournament of ranking points.
Wimbledon 2023 will take place from July 3-16.
