Nadal won Roland Garros by beating Ruud in three sets

22nd Grand Slam title for the Spaniard

Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal won the Roland Garros 2022 title.

The fifth racket of the world in three sets figured out in the final with Casper Ruud from Norway – 6:3, 6:3, 6:0. The 36-year-old Spaniard took two hours and 20 minutes to win.

During the game, Nadal converted eight of 16 breakpoints, made two double faults and made one ace. Ruud managed to realize only 2 breakpoints.

This is Rafael Nadal’s 14th French Open title and 22nd Grand Slam trophy overall. Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic have 20 wins each.

Earlier in the tournament bracket in Paris, the Spaniard defeated Corentin Mute (6:3, 6:1, 6:4), Botik van de Zandshulp (6:3, 6:2, 6:4), Felix Auger-Aliassime (3: 6, 6:3, 6:2, 3:6, 6:3), Novak Djokovic (6:2, 4:6, 6:2, 7:6) and Alexander Zverev (7:6, 6:6 refusal ).

Earlier, Iga Sventek from Poland became the champion of Roland Garros in the women’s category, who beat the American Corey Gauff in the final (6:1, 6:3).
