Ukrainian tennis player Ilya Marchenko went out in semi-final series tournament ATP Challenger in Puerto Vallarta (Mexico).
In the quarterfinals, the Ukrainian beat Gashtau Elias from Portugal in three sets. The Ukrainian lost in the first set in a tiebreak, after which he won the next two. In the decisive game, Marchenko did not give up a single game to his opponent.
Ilya reached the semi-finals of the Challenger for the first time in two years. The last time he played at such a stage was at the Biella tournament in March 2021.
At the competitions in Puerto Vallarta, Marchenko started in qualifying. In the first round of the main draw, the Ukrainian passed Christian Langmo from the USA. In the semi-finals, Ilya will meet with the fifth seed of the tournament, Benoit Pere from France.
