The Belarusian Tennis Federation (BTF) has filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne and plans to appeal the decision of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) to suspend membership in the organization, according to the official BTF website.
The federation will also appeal against the exclusion of Belarusian teams from participation in the biggest team tournaments.
“The Belarusian Tennis Federation continues its work at all levels, defending the interests of our athletes,” the press service said in a statement.
On March 1, the ITF suspended the membership of the Russian and Belarusian tennis federations and canceled tournaments in those countries, based on the recommendation of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), due to the situation in Ukraine.
