Daniel led 4-1 in the second set, but Norrie won the next four games to take a 5-4 lead. The Briton failed to close the set immediately, but still won it 7:5.
Norrie then took the opposing serve twice and led 3-0 in the final set. Daniel gave the fight away, winning the next two matches, but the Brit won the next three, completing the comeback 6-7(5), 7-5, 6-2.
Rublev leads in matches against Norrie with a score of 2:1. He won their previous meeting at US Open 2022.
