Russian tennis player, three-time Grand Slam doubles champion Elena Vesnina assessed the degree of damage Daniel Medvedev he received at the Master’s in the USA.
Medvedev defeated Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina in the quarterfinals of the Indian Wells tournament – 6:3, 7:5. During the encounter, the Russian needed a medical break due to a finger injury. Earlier in the round of 16 match against Alexander Zverev, Medvedev sprained his ankle and also needed medical attention.
– It was a bit exciting after Dani’s previous game, because we didn’t know how his ankle was. He fell quite badly and it was obvious he was in pain. The main thing is that nothing is damaged. Judging by how he went from the match with Davidovich-Fokina, everything is fine with him. Another victory and reach the semi-finals of the Masters,” Vesnina told the “Championship”.
In the semi-finals of the Indian Wells tournament, the Russian will face the American Francis Tiafoe. The match will take place on Saturday, March 18 and kick off at 9:00 p.m. Moscow time.
