Athletistic/Tennis. Russian Tennis Federation (RTF) President Shamil Tarpishchev commented on Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev’s performance at the Roland Garros tournament and his early departure from the competition.

“Medvedev needs to get back in shape, his nervous system is training. It’s too early for him to win, he has to play four or five tournaments to be in order. It’s a purely methodical thing,” said Tarpishchev.

At Roland Garros 2022, Medvedev started with three wins over Argentinian Facundo Bagnis (6:2, 6:2, 6:2), Serbian Laszlo Djere (6:3, 6:4, 6:3) and a another representative of Serbia Miomir Kecmanovic (6:2, 6:4, 6:2). In the match of the 1/8 finals, the Russian lost to Croatian tennis player Marin Cilic (2:6, 3:6, 2:6).
