Marta started with a victory at the tournament in Miami
Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk spoke about how her debut influenced her WTA trophyconquered in early March in American Austin.
“It seems to me that there is such a misconception that after winning the title your life becomes simply incredible, changes for the better and you feel great. But in reality, there are so many different things, thoughts that you have to deal with. It requires a new approach and I’m still trying to adapt.”
“Obviously I haven’t won a big tournament yet. I just like to play, I like to compete with serious opponents, I’m progressing as a player, I’m learning new things. So I’m looking forward to playing in the new tournament.”
The Ukrainian started with a victory at the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami. Kostyuk’s next opponent will be 27th seeded Anastasia Potapova, who plays in a neutral status.
Recall Kostyuk updated her personal record in the new WTA rankings. Marta climbed to 38th place in the list of the best tennis players in the world.
