Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov beat world No. 3 Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Round of 16 at the Masters in Miami and ended a 3.5-year losing streak against the top 10 players.
Khachanov’s last top 10 win was against Alexander Zverev at the Masters Series tournament in Canada on August 9, 2019 – three years, seven months and 19 days ago (a total of 1327 days).
What’s more, Khachanov’s win over world No. 3 was actually the second-best ranking win of his career, having beaten then-No. 2 Serbian Novak Djokovic in the Paris Masters final in 2018.
For Khachanov, this is the 50th victory of his career at the Masters Series tournament. He is only the seventh player born in 1995 or later to do so, after Alexander Zverev (103), Tsitsipas (70), Daniil Medvedev (68), Borna Korich (57), Nick Kyrgios (52) and Denis Shapovalov ( 52) .
