Tennis. WTA Miami. The final. Rybakin-Kvitov. Direct

Late Saturday night, April 1, the WTA-1000 tournament in Miami will host the women’s singles final. A native of Moscow, now representing Kazakhstan, 23-year-old Elena Rybakina will fight for the title with Czech tennis player Petra Kvitova. For Rybakina this will be the third final of the current season at major tournaments, for Kvitova – the first. The bookmakers consider the representative of Kazakhstan the favorite in the match. We can bet on the success of Elena with a coefficient of 1.41, while the victory of Kvitova, 33, is estimated at 3.40 points.

Two weeks ago, Rybakina already played in the final of the WTA-1000 tournament. In Indian Wells, Elena managed to win the title, defeating the representative of Belarus Arina Sobolenko in straight sets (7:6, 6:4). Now a native of Moscow will face a more experienced opponent, who, moreover, is now on the rise. In principle, Petra Kvitova can be considered one of the most stable tennis players of our time. The Czech hasn’t left the top 30 of the WTA rankings for 12 years. Petra had her best position in 2011, when she was the second racket in the world. But over the past 12 years, Kvitova has had some very good seasons. For example, she finished 2014 in 4th place in the rankings, and during 2018-2020 the Czech was in the top 8. The last two seasons, Petra was outside the top ten in the world rankings, but still level. Now she is very close to getting back into the top 10. To do that, Kvitova needs to win the title today. By the way, the Czech currently has 29 victories on the circuit (singles). And today’s final will be the 13th of the tournaments with the 1000 class.

Elena Rybakina, if she wins today, will become the sixth racket in the world. Now the former Russian woman demonstrates the best tennis of her career. At the same time, Elena can win only the fifth title at the professional level. Recall that in the semifinals of the current tournament, Rybakina was able to beat the third racket in the world, American Jessica Pegula (7:6, 6:4).

Between themselves, tennis players met twice. Last fall, Rybakina managed to beat Kvitova in the quarterfinals of the Petra home tournament in Ostrava (7:6, 6:4). And in January of this year, the Czech took his revenge in Adelaide by winning in the first round (6:3, 7:5).
