The multiple Grand Slam winner from Spain Rafael Nadal announced that he would miss the Monte-Carlo Masters tournament.
Nadal, 36, played his last match in January at the Australian Open, the tennis player has not played in tournaments due to a muscle injury in his left leg.
— I am still not ready to compete at the highest level. I will not be able to play in one of the most important tournaments of my career, Monte Carlo. I am unable to play with maximum guarantees and continue the preparation process, hoping to return soon,” Nadal wrote on his Twitter page.
The Monte Carlo clay “Masters” will take place from April 9 to 16. Nadal is an 11-time winner of the tournament.
