Part of the Masters Series tournaments will become two weeks from 2023

Some Masters series tennis tournaments will become two weeks from 2023. It has been reported ATP press service .

The reform will notably affect the tournaments in Shanghai (China), Madrid (Spain) and Rome (Italy). From 2023, they will become two weeks, the number of participants will increase from 56 to 96. The prize pool will increase by 35%. From 2025, similar changes will affect tournaments in Cincinnati (USA) and Canada.

The changes are expected to bridge the gap between Masters and Grand Slams, as well as boost interest from advertisers.
