Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev said his head coach Fernando Vicente did not come to the Monte Carlo tournament due to unforeseen personal circumstances.
Rublev beat Dane Holger Rune 5:7, 6:2, 7:5 in the Masters final in Monte Carlo on Sunday. In the third set, the Russian lost 1:4.
Fernando Vicente was supposed to be here in Monaco, but he had unforeseen personal circumstances. So, yes, he was not in Monte Carlo. He was in Indian Wells, then there was a second coach in Miami. And here it was meant to be. But now Fernando will go to Madrid,” Rublev told the Championship.
For Rublev, 25, this is the first Masters victory and the 13th title of his career.
