Alexa Guarachi says goodbye to the WTA 1000 in Miami in a close match

The national tennis player fell in the second round of the doubles, in a duel that was defined in the super tie break. The Chilean is still looking for the consistency she had last year.

Alexa Guarachi (25th) was unable to extend his fine participation in the WTA 1000 in Miami, where he reached the round of 16 in doubles, with the Chinese Xu Yifan (30th). The duo said goodbye in a close game against the fourth seeds, the Americans Cori Gauff (10th) and Caty McNally (13th), who won 6-7 (6), 7-6 (6) and 10-8.

Meanwhile, in the Pereira Challenger, Gonzalo Lama (254th) fell 7-6(6), 6-4 to Argentina’s Thiago Tirante (197th), on his tournament debut. The national tennis player couldn’t take advantage of the chances he had in the first set and then a solitary break in the second set was enough for the trans-Andean to win the match.
