Ukrainian – one step away from the final
Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina advanced to the singles semi-finals WTA 1000 in Rome (Italy).
At the stage of the 1/4 finals, the Ukrainian beat the 12th seed of the event, Beatriz Haddad Maia from Brazil, in three sets. The meeting lasted three hours and 50 minutes.
The Ukrainian lost the first set in a tiebreak (2:7). However, a tie-break in the second game brought success to Angelina (8:6), after which, in a strong-willed style, the Ukrainian managed to complete three breaks in the final game (6:3).
During the tournament, the Ukrainian first knocked out Anastasia Blinkova, then passed the American Sophia Kenin and Madison Keys. In the semifinals, Kalinina will face Veronika Kudermetova.
