“SW and SW19. It’s a date. 2022. See you soon. Go ahead,” Williams wrote on one of the social media accounts. SW and SW19 are the postcodes of Wimbledon, a suburb of London where the tournament of the same name takes place.

Serena Williams last played on the court on June 29, 2021. In the first round match at Wimbledon, the American lost to Belarusian tennis player Alexandra Sasnovich: with the score 3:3 in the first set, Serena was forced out of the match due to injury, and Sasnovich was credited with a technical win.
