Kalinina twisted her leg during the match and Kasatkina helped her by running with an ice pack.
“At first I didn’t see what happened. When she turned around, Angelina was already lying on the floor. She had a cramp, a cramp in her calf, so I brought her some ice cream and I was able to help her a bit. The cramps may go away and come back, but it’s good that she was able to see the game through,” Kasatkina said.
Daria Kasatkina defeated Kalinina in three sets with the score 5:7, 6:3, 6:1 and advanced to the next round of the tournament in Berlin.
