Medvedev – about his dance after reaching the “Masters” final: “When I saw from the side, I thought I looked ridiculous”

Russian tennis player Daniel Medvedev talked about his dance, which he performed after beating Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semi-finals of the Masters Series tournament in Rome, and also called Denmark’s Holger Rune one of the best clay players.

On Saturday, Medvedev beat Tsitsipas 7:5, 7:5. The meeting was repeatedly interrupted due to rain. After the win, the Russian on the pitch celebrated the success with a fun short dance.

In the decisive match of the tournament, the Russian will play with Rune.

– I consider Rune one of the best players on clay. I think this blanket suits her the best. Now I feel much better compared to the Monte-Carlo tournament. I had a lot more matches and practices. In the final, I will try to play as well as possible.

I don’t often dance after winning, but sometimes it happens. I was just very happy. When I saw the dance from the side, I thought it looked very ridiculous. But when I see it again after a while, I’ll say, “It’s a memory, it’s fun.” I reached my first Masters final on clay so I feel good. But that doesn’t mean I will dance after every game,” Medvedev told a press conference.

Medvedev will play the Masters final on clay for the first time in his career.
