Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina refused to continue the fight with the representative of Kazakhstan Elena Rybakina in the final match of the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome due to a left leg injury.
The Ukrainian retired with the score of 4:6, 0:1.
– I reached my physical limit, I felt pain in my left leg. I tried to continue the game, but it turned out to be impossible. My main task now is to recover and get back to work on myself,” Kalinina said at a press conference, as quoted by Yahoo! sports.
Rybakina, 23, won the fifth title of his career and the second of the season.
