The first racket of Ukraine Angelina Kalinina shared her impressions of the final match of the tournament WTA 1000 V Rome.

“I am very sorry that I could not finish this match. I tried to show my best tennis, but this… Of course this is a sport and I would like to congratulate Elena, not only for this title, but for all that you have achieved in a year since Wimbledon. This is very motivating. I hope one day I can reach your level. Good luck to you in the season and I wish you to achieve all your goals.

“And the last thing, but perhaps the most important: thanks to Italy and all Italians for supporting Ukraine during the war. This is very important for Ukraine, thank you very much!” the tennis player said at the awards ceremony.

The Ukrainian lost to Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan in the final match of the tournament in Rome. In the second set after the first game played, Kalinina called the doctor to the court, pointing out problems with her left leg. After consultations, Angelina decided to stop the fight.
