The Ukrainian beat Alexandra Ignatik from Romania in straight sets. The Ukrainian started the fight with a lost serve, but managed to make two breaks and win the first set.
Yastremska also started the second game with a loss of serve. Dayana lost 2:3, but regained the initiative, won four games in a row and won the match.
The next opponent of the Ukrainian will be Sasha Vickery from the USA. The American beat Spaniard Marina Bassols in three sets, having played three match points in the second set.
Daria Snigur from Ukraine also competes in Roland Garros qualification. Five more Ukrainian tennis players (Angelina Kalinina, Marta Kostyuk, Lesya Tsurenko, Katerina Beindl and Elina Svitolina) will start the tournament from the main draw.
