Kudermetova climbed to ninth place in the WTA title race

Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova moved up one position in this season’s WTA title chase to ninth place.

With 1683 points, the Russian outperformed Madison Keys (1623). Last week, Kudermetova reached the semi-finals of the ‘s-Hertogenbosch tournament, losing to her compatriot Ekaterina Alexandrova . Aleksandrova herself fell from 22nd to 16th position.

Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia made the biggest move up the top 100 when she won the tournament in Nottingham. She went from 55th to 31st place.
