Spanish tennis player Paula badosa announced that she will miss the French Open in Paris due to injury.
The former world number two will not play at Roland Garros due to a stress fracture in a vertebra.
“Just when everything seemed to be going well, I received bad news just before the start of the Grand Slam. During a tournament in Rome, I suffered a stress fracture in my spine. It was a very difficult news after such a difficult start to the year with injuries. Due to the injury, I will not be able to compete for a few weeks. Thank you to everyone who is always with me,” the 25-year-old wrote on Twitter.
Badosa is ranked 29th in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings, with three wins in WTA tournaments.
The main draw matches at Roland-Garros will begin on May 28.
