In her first round, Alexandrova (23) defeated Victoria Tomova (72nd in the WTA rankings) from Bulgaria with a score of 6:1, 2:6, 6:1. The duration of the match was 1 hour 34 minutes. Alexandrova shot five innings, double faulted and converted 7 out of 11 break points. Meanwhile, Tomova failed to throw a single ace, double faulted six times and converted 4 out of 10 break points.
Alexandrova’s next opponent in the tournament will be Germany’s Anna-Lena Friedsam.
The total prize pool of the Roland Garros tournament is 49,600,000 euros. The current champion of the women’s tournament is Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek, who is in first place in the world rankings.
