Kudermetova reached the second round of the Berlin tournament, beating the world’s fifth racket Sobolenko

Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova qualified for the second round of the WTA 500 tournament in Berlin.

In the 1/16 final, the Russian, who occupies the 24th place in the world ranking, beat the fifth racket Arina Sobolenko from Belarus. Kudermetova lost in the first set with the score 2:6, but then took two games – 7:5, 6:4. The athletes spent 2 hours and 13 minutes on the field. The Russian tennis player did not allow her opponent to make 13 break points out of 17.

In the next round, Kudermetova will play against her compatriot Lyudmila Samsonova.
