Nadezhda, together with Anna-Lena Friedsam from Germany, lost to the pair Ingrid Nil/U Fansen (Estonia/Chinese Taipei). The meeting lasted two hours and 21 minutes.
The first set was left for Kichenok and Fridzam – 7:2 in the tiebreak. The Ukrainian-German tandem gave up four of their serves in the second installment (4:6). The final set was also in favor of Nil and Fansen: the fourth game was decisive, which was lost by Kichenok and Friedsam (3:6).
Three more Ukrainians will play in the Roland Garros 2023 doubles – Lyudmila Kichenok, paired with Elena Ostapenko from Latvia, received the fourth seed, Marta Kostyuk will play together with Elena-Gabriela Ruse from Romania (13th seed), and Angelina Kalinina will perform with Romanian Irina Camellia Begu.
