Athletistic/Tennis. Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina successfully qualified for the 1/8 finals of the Roland Garros tournament, beating Russian athlete Anna Blinkova in the third round. In the next match, Svitolina will meet another Russian tennis player, Daria Kasatkina.
Despite the fact that Ukrainian tennis players avoid shaking hands with their rivals from Russia and Belarus, Svitolina expressed her gratitude and congratulations to Kasatkina for her expressed support for the decision of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC ) and the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) to help Ukrainian athletes during tournaments on British grass courts. AELTC and LTA announced the provision of two hotel rooms and access to exclusive training facilities for all Ukrainian tennis players.
“I’m very grateful to Dasha for her position. It’s what you can expect from others. Her actions are really brave,” Svitolina said in an interview with France24.
