Russian tennis player, Olympic champion, winner of Grand Slam tournaments in doubles Elena Vesnina declared that the output Karena Khachanova in the quarter-finals of Roland Garros did not surprise her.
Khachanov qualified for the French Open quarter-finals on Sunday by beating Italian Lorenzo Sonego – 1:6, 6:4, 7:6 (9:7), 6:1.
– To be honest, Khachanov’s entry into 1/4 Roland Garros didn’t surprise me. Karen was supposed to beat Sonego – he did! The Italian played a classy game with Rublev, but he wasn’t enough for the second game. In the first set, Khachanov did little. But then he pulled himself together and showed his best tennis!
Karen is once again showing herself to be chic at the Grand Slam. He knows how to play big tournaments, shows it every time, – said Vesnina “Championship”.
Serbian Novak Djokovic, who faces Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas, could become Khachanov’s opponent in the quarter-finals.
