Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov said he had no problem getting a UK visa, which is needed to play at Wimbledon.
On Sunday, Khachanov qualified for the quarter-finals of Roland-Garros, where he will play with world number three Novak Djokovic.
– I heard that it takes much longer to get a visa with documents. But in this case, I have everything ready, so I don’t have any problems yet. Everything is in order,” Khachanov told a news conference.
In March, Wimbledon organizers decided to allow Russian and Belarusian tennis players into neutral status. The condition of admission is the respect of a number of conditions, including the signing of a special declaration. Players are prohibited from expressing support for the CBO, as well as having state-run or state-controlled companies as sponsors.
Wimbledon 2023 will take place from July 3-16.
