Former world No. 3 Tim to miss Wimbledon

The Austrian will be replaced by Spaniard Feliciano Lopez

Former world number three Dominic Tim will not perform Wimbledon. In the main draw of the tournament, he will be replaced by Spaniard Feliciano Lopez.

The player continues to get back in shape after suffering a wrist injury that kept the Austrian out of action for nine months. The injury prevented Tim from playing at the 2020 Olympics.

Tim is the 2020 US Open champion and the holder of 17 ATP titles. In Madrid, the Austrian reached the final twice in 2017-18.

The main part of Wimbledon starts on June 27th. Russian and Belarusian tennis players were not allowed to compete because of their countries’ full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The total prize fund of the tournament this year will be a record 40.35 million pounds. The men’s and women’s singles champions will each receive £2 million. Finalists will receive more than a million.
