Russian tennis player Varvara Gracheva received French nationality, according to L’Equipe.
According to the publication, Gracheva, ranked 41st in the WTA rankings, received a document on Monday confirming her French nationality.
Earlier, French Tennis Federation reported that Gracheva had applied for the country’s sports citizenship. The Russian has been training in Cannes since 2016 and has lived in France for seven years.
Gracheva has won seven titles at International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournaments.
