Winning his first Grand Slam trophy at the Australian Open in January, Sobolenko continues to impress with his superior tennis. She made the final in Indian Wells and the quarter-finals in Miami before having an exciting season on clay.

The Belarusian reached the finals in Stuttgart and Madrid, winning the title in Spain. She finished second in Germany behind Iga Schwöntek.

The Czech was unseeded and kicked off her 2023 French Open campaign with a dramatic win over WTA No. 8 Maria Sakkari. She then knocked out world No. 27 Irina-Kamelia Bega and beat Russia’s Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the quarter-finals to reach the Roland Garros semi-finals for the first time.

Muchova should now return to the top 20 after Roland-Garros.

In personal matches, Sobolenko defeated Mukhova with the score 1:0. Belarus beat Mukhova 7-5, 7-6(4) in the 2019 Zhuhai semi-final.
