Athletistic/Tennis. 15-year-old Russian tennis player Alina Korneeva expressed her opinion on the second consecutive participation in the final of the junior Grand Slam tournament.

In the deciding match of the 2023 Australian Open, Korneeva defeated 16-year-old compatriot Mirra Andreeva. In the final of the junior tournament “Roland Garros”, Alina will play against the sixth seed Luxiana Perez-Alarcón from Peru.

“A second Slam final in a row feels unusual because it’s something special. Not like in Australia, but the feeling of the final is similar to a tournament with a 60,000 prize pool.

Everything is completely different here than in Melbourne, because it was very difficult for me, I had problems with my physical condition. I didn’t think about the final, but I thought about myself. Now, of course, I think of the final.

I’ve often said that hard is better for me, but I also have a lot of titles on clay. It’s interesting to play on clay, there are a lot of different elements, unlike hard.

I don’t think I’m calm on the court. After today’s game, it seems to me that I am very emotional, simply because I am a player with strong emotions. I am not doing it on purpose. Maybe sometimes I show more calm, but I don’t know,” Korneeva told a press conference.
