Croatian wins seventh Grand Slam title
Croat Ivan Dodig and American Austin Krycek become champions Roland Garros 2023 in men’s doubles.
In the final, Dodig and Krayceg, seeded under the fourth number, confidently defeated the Belgian duo of Sander Gilles and Göran Fliegen – 6:3, 6:1.
Note that Dodig and Krycek played in pairs in the final of Roland Garros for the second time in a row. In 2022, Ivan and Austin lost to Salvadorian Marcelo Arevalo and Dutchman Jean-Julien Royer in the decisive match.
38-year-old Dodig became the winner of the Grand Slam tournament in men’s doubles for the third time. Four more times the Croatian triumphed in the mixed doubles. Krycek, 32, won the Grand Slam for the first time in his career.
Earlier, Japanese Miyu Kato and German Tim Puetz became the champions of Roland Garros-2023 in the mixed doubles. The representative of Poland, Iga Sventek, triumphed in the women’s singles.
