In the women’s doubles final, playing in tandem with Japan’s Sara Saito, Korneeva was beaten by American tennis players Taira Catherine Grant and Clervie Ngunu with a score of 3:6, 2:6. The match lasted 1 hour 1 minute.
The Korneeva/Saito pair, who were the first seed, failed to throw a single ace, committed two double faults and converted just one of eight break opportunities. At the same time, the American pair Grant/Ngunu scored an ace, double-faulted on serve and converted four out of eight break points.
Earlier in the day, on June 10, Korneeva became the singles champion of the 2023 Roland Garros junior tournament. In the final, she defeated Peru’s representative Lussiana Pérez-Alarcón with a score of 7:6 (7: 4), 6:3.
