“I didn’t understand Alcaraz at all. Why did he keep playing Djokovic? -Tchesnokov

The winner of seven ATP tournaments Andrei Chesnokov has admitted that he does not understand why the world’s first racket Carlos Alcaraz continued to play with the Serbian Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals of Roland Garros, experiencing cramps.

Alcaras lost to Djokovic on Friday 3:6, 7:5, 1:6, 1:6. During the meeting, the 20-year-old Spaniard took a medical leave.

– I didn’t understand Alcaraz at all – why did he keep playing with Djokovic? The first two sets were amazing, then [пошли] some pain. There was no play – everything was flying in one gate. If a tennis player can’t move completely, then what are we talking about? On the other hand, this match is a real final, not a semi-final,” Chesnokov told the “Championship”.

Djokovic will face Norway’s Kasper Ruud in the Roland Garros final. Last year, Ruud also reached the Roland Garros final, where he lost to Spaniard Rafael Nadal.
