Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic said he was happy to become the record holder for the number of victories at Grand Slam tournaments.
On Sunday, Djokovic beat Norway’s Kasper Ruud in the French Open final to become the first tennis player to win 23 Grand Slams.
– Australian Open, US Open, Wimbledon, Roland Garros – the four biggest tournaments in our sport, and every player dreams of winning at least once in their career. I had the chance to do it 23 times.
I would like to convey a message to all young people – tennis players, athletes, in general, to everyone. I was a seven year old child who dreamed of winning Wimbledon. I am very grateful to be here.
I had the opportunity to create my own destiny. I visualize everything in my life and feel it with every cell in my body. Forget what happened in the past. If you want a better future, create it,” Djokovic told the Roland Garros press service.
This is Djokovic, 36,’s third victory at Roland Garros, having won the Australian Open 10 times, the US Open three times and Wimbledon seven times.
