Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova faced Canada’s representative Carol Zhao in the second round of the grass-court tournament in the Netherlands.
The eldest of the Kudermetov sisters won in straight sets in 1 hour and 10 minutes, losing four games in total.
In the quarter-finals, the Russian, who plays in the tournament as the first seed, will play with the winner of the pair Céline Nef (Switzerland) – Cathy McNally (USA).
Later Wednesday, Polina Kudermetova, Veronika’s younger sister, will face another Russian tennis player, Lyudmila Samsonova, in the second round.
