Evgeny Kafelnikov, the most successful tennis player in Russian history, former world number one, winner of two Grand Slam tournaments and Olympic champion, spoke about Daniil Medvedev’s loss to Spanish tennis player Roberto Bautista- Aguta in the quarterfinals of the ATP -500 Tournament in Halle.
Kafelnikov stressed that he supports the idea that maintaining a high level of play throughout the season is a very difficult task. He also noted that players go through ups and downs in their careers, and Medvedev might face such a downturn right now. However, Kafelnikov does not consider it necessary to dramatize the situation and talk about the crisis.
