The upcoming Wimbledon will use artificial intelligence commentary to highlight some of the tournament content.
This content will be available in the app and on the official Wimbledon website, according to Giant Freakin Robot, citing The Guardian.
This new service will run on the IBM Watsonx artificial intelligence platform. The platform will work on all kinds of tennis and Wimbledon data, including real-time ball and player tracking data. The types of strokes tennis players make will also be voiced. The data will then be processed by the platform and entered into the system like a chatbot to create a linguistic commentary. The commentary itself will be translated into an audio commentary using the cloned voice of British tennis commentator Hannah England.
Wimbledon will take place from July 3 to 16.
