“Bublik could beat a lot of people if he wasn’t so crazy.” Dmitrieva – about Rublev’s defeat in the final of the Hull tournament

Representative of Kazakhstan Alexander Bublik I could have won so many top tennis players if I hadn’t been so crazy, multiple champion of the USSR, commentator Anna Dmitrieva expressed her opinion in a conversation with a correspondent.

Bublik beat the Russian on Sunday Andrei Rublev with a score of 6:3, 3:6, 6:3 in the tournament final in Hull. For the 26-year-old tennis player, this is the second title of his career.

– It seems to me that the final took place because there was a struggle and because Bublik won. Yet for many it was unexpected and illegal. At the same time, we know Alexander as a very talented player. He could beat a lot of people if he wasn’t so crazy and eccentric and getting excited.

Their relationship with Rublev has lasted since childhood. Therefore, I think it was not unexpected for Andrey that it was difficult for him to play.

– What did Andrei miss in the final?

– Yes, that’s enough. It was just that Bublik had a great pitch, that was enough. It is very difficult to take on grass. There you cannot lose your land at all, this is the main rule. If the pitch goes well, it should be cherished like the apple of an eye. The bagel, in principle, serves brilliantly, but periodically gets littered with balls. But it was the final and Alexander survived, especially at the decisive moment, Dmitrieva told .

Bublik is the 48th racket in the world. The victory in Hull will raise him to 27th place, his best career result.
