Athletistic/Tennis. Arina Sobolenko, vice-world champion and winner of the 2023 Australian Open, made the cover of the prestigious French newspaper L’Équipe in June.
Previously, Sobolenko played unsuccessfully at the WTA-500 grass tournament in Berlin, Germany. In the second round, she was beaten by Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova with the score 2:6, 6:7 (2:7). For Sobolenko, it was the first grass court tournament of the season.
Sobolenko has already won three tournaments in 2023, including the Australian Open and two WTA tournaments in Adelaide and Madrid. At the last Roland Garros, she reached the semi-finals, where she lost to Czech tennis player Karolina Muchova in three sets. The previous year, Sobolenko had been eliminated in the third round of this tournament.
