Former American tennis player Billie Jean King has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, according to the award’s website.
King was included in the list of winners, selected by a special committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce from among hundreds of applicants. King, along with actor and former American football player Carl Weathers, won in the Sports Entertainment category.
– I am very happy to receive a star on the Walk of Fame, my dream has come true. Such an honor that I am the first female athlete to receive this award,” said the 79-year-old American.
