The representatives of the aggressor country must prove the absence of relations with the Kremlin regime.
Russians and Belarusians must fulfill certain conditions if they want to take part in the current Wimbledon. An updated list of requirements for representatives of the aggressor countries and its allies has been presented by the organizers of the British Grand Slam tournament.
According to the BBC, Russians and Belarusians will be admitted to the major only on neutral status. They must also sign declarations for entering the contest.
Representatives of these two countries cannot “wear or be identified with anything containing an image, symbol, flag or emblem” that could indicate support for the war or the Russian and Belarusian regimes.
They also cannot receive funding from either the state or from companies managed or controlled by persons subject to sanctions. And they must prove the absence of such agreements, and in the case of having contracts in the past, provide evidence of their termination.
The government of Great Britain acted as the initiator of changes for the Russians and Belarusians.
Remember that Wimbledon will be held from 3 to 16 July. Currently, the qualifying tournament for participation in the competition has started and is ongoing.
We remind you, earlier the Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk repeated the success of Elina Svitolina.
