Russian tennis player Anastasia Potapova announced on a social network that she had withdrawn from the Eastbourne British tournament due to damage
The Russian suffered a right shoulder injury in Birmingham last week.
“My team and I are convinced that this is the best solution in this situation. My next few days will be focused on recovery in order to be in better shape for Wimbledon, said Potapova.
In the first round of the tournament, Potapova was to play with Italian Camila Giorgi. Additionally, current titleholder Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic has refused to perform at Eastbourne.
Wimbledon will take place from July 3 to 16.
