Vera Russian Zvonareva managed to overcome the first round of the Wimbledon tournament playoff draw.
The 38-year-old tennis player defeated Brazilian representative Laura Pigossi in three sets – 5:7, 7:6 (7:5), 6:2.
Zvonareva will play in the next round with the winner of the pair Daria Semenistaya (Latvia) – Marie Benois (Belgium).
Russia’s Diana also qualified for the second qualifying round. Schneider who beat American Liv Hovde, and Eric Andreeva who beat Dalila Jakupović of Slovenia.
