The world’s first polka racket Iga Schwentek decided to withdraw from the semi-finals of the Bad Homburg tournament (Germany) for health reasons, reports the press service of the competition.
Schwentek Friday in the ½ final was to meet the Italian Lucia Bronzetti.
In the other semifinal, the American Emma Navarro and the winner of the pair Lyudmila Samsonova (Russia, 2nd seed) – Katerina Sinyakova (Czech Republic) will play. The tennis players started the quarter-final encounter on Thursday, but after two games the match was postponed to Friday. The Russian lost in the first set with the score 5:7, but in the second set she was stronger – 6:4.
The final of the Bad Homburg tournament will take place on July 1.
